Miro Hoffmann
Miro Hoffmann is an emerging visual artist living and working in New Orleans, LA. A graduate of NOCCA Riverfront in 2009 he left the city to attend School of the Museum of Fine Arts and Tufts University in Boston, earning a BFA in 2013. After college he moved back to New Orleans with a focus on painting urban gardens. Hoffmann was a 2015 artist in residence at The Joan Mitchell Center in New Orleans, and will be in the upcoming 2024 New American Painters South issue. His work looks to the history of landscape painting, while grounded in larger issues around climate change, resilience, breaking racial, social, economic boundaries, food apartheid, and self-sustainability. Hoffmann draws from personal experiences as well as historical references that thread together painting, light, film, architecture, and sculpture.
